Ardbeg An Oa

A smoky, sweet and singularly rounded dram, thanks to time spent in Ardbeg’s oak Gathering Vat. The bespoke Gathering Vat is where whiskies from several cask types (including sweet Pedro Ximenez, spicy virgin charred oak and intense ex-bourbon casks, amongst others) mingle and familiarise themselves with each other.
TASTING NOTES:
NOSE – Rounded and smoky like burning Applewood. Juicy fruits, such as peach and banana. Hints of smoked herbs, mint toffee and some gentle malty biscuit notes.
TASTE – A smooth, creamy texture leads into a huge syrupy sweetness, flavours of milk chocolate, smoky tea leaves, some cigar smoke and grilled artichokes.
FINISH – Lingering, seductive, gentle yet intense, with flavours of aniseed, hickory and subtle smoke.
CASK STORY: Created in Ardbeg’s French oak Gathering Vat using whisky from several cask types.
STRENGTH: 46.6% ABV (non chill-filtered).
